Saturday was the Art City Days Family Fun Run! We did that every year up until Covid and we haven't really gotten back into it. But this year, there was a significant contingent of Skinners who wanted to run! Savannah, Megan, Ammon, Mariah, Kolby, Cheyenne, and Calianne all ran! Micah even participated in a stroller! Ben would have run, but he instead helped throw the colored chalk for YCC. They had a terrific time, and Megan and Kolby both placed third in their categories!

After the race, Kevin made waffles for everyone. Kevin needed to teach that day, but the rest of us went to Sarah and McKay's to help decorate the float that he is going to use in the Art City Days Parade! He's using the parade to advertise for his studio. He's hoping to get 30 more students. It's going to be a roaring success. Partly because we made him an awesome float.

After float decorating, Cali, Chey, Beth, Ben, Kevin, and I drove up to Tooele to visit the Deseret Peak Temple. It was beautiful and felt so good to be in the temple, as always. Afterward, we stopped at The Great Salt Lake State Park for a picnic dinner. We brought our bathing suits to give floating a try. We were very hesitant because of the healthy population of brine flies and brine shrimp. HOWEVER, we wanted the bragging rights and also to have the same experience as our ancestors who used to come out to SaltAir and swim in the lake for fun! So we went in. How easily you float is so cool! We didn't stay in for long, though, because, it turns out that shaved legs sting in salt water and Ben was grossed out by the flies. Ha ha! Not to worry, though, we went home with our bragging rights prepared to pull out whenever we may need them.
