Sarah had her baby this week! This was much to the delight of everyone and especially Sarah but right after that was the delight of Cheyenne who has only a few days left before she reports to the physical MTC and we won't see her in person for a year and a half. She really REALLY wanted to meet this new baby. We are all thrilled that got to happen!

Sarah went into labor on Thursday night. McKay called me at 7am Friday morning to come watch Avery so he could take Sarah to the hospital. Sarah had been up most of the night with the contractions and was relieved to find out that she was close. Her new little girl came into the world before 10am! McKay texted us all, "Lyla Anne Hatch has arrived!"

Another fun thing that happened this weekend was that Mariah had her first race and it was just a half hour from our house, so it was super easy for us to go! She did great! It's always fun to see her running with all the college runners and the race atomosphere is always very exciting. Plus, we got to give her hugs and have lunch with her. We love that girl!

In other news, Bethany and I drove up to Primary Children's Hospital again, this time to see Dr. Kestle, a pediatric neurologist. Bethany has a benign tumor growing on her pituitary gland and they will remove it at the end of this month. They'll be able to reach it through her nasal gland and we have been reassured that it is a relatively easy surgery so that is a relief. We will be glad to get it all over with!

Cheyenne has been doing at-home MTC all week. I love that this is how missions begin now. It is so fun to see your child as a missionary, meeting new friends in their district, bearing their testimonies multiple times a day, and sharing their thoughts and feelings as they learn, learn, learn. It will still be hard to drop her off at the physical MTC next week, but this makes it so much easier. We are so excited for her!

Ben has been doing cross country after school all week and he loves it! Bethany has been doing play practices after school all week and she loves that! Between these new after-school activities and karate, we suddenly see the two of them a whole lot less. I'm glad that they have such fun things to do though and are actively engaging in life!

Calianne hiked Spanish Fork Peak with Jordan on Monday. That is a very strenuous hike and they came home exhausted but they had a great time together. The next day Jordan flew home to Arizona and they said goodbye for a year and a half or maybe forever. That's been really hard for Cali as you can imagine. She continued to work three 8-hour days at Earth Harbor which is hard, too. But she has loved talking to Chey about what the at-home MTC is like, receiving her own tags in the mail, seeing Mariah run, and holding the new baby.

I forgot to mention that Monday was the twins' birthday! I guess it was just so long ago! Cali hiked most of the day and Chey started at-home MTC, but that night around 9, everyone came over including Grandma and Grandpa, Sarah and McKay, Megan and Ammon. We had presents and cheesecake and sang Happy Birthday. What a year 19 will be!
