Savannah went back for a full week of work this week. She also went to FHE on Monday and Institute on Wednesday. On Thursday, she came with me to see Bethany perform at BYU (more on that later)! On Saturday she and Sarah rode bikes next to Mariah who had to get in her 7 mile run! Savannah yelled down all the hills--because they are scary!

Sarah had to wait for her background check to come through before she could substitute teach again, but she was able to on Thursday and Friday. She seemed to really love being back with the kids! She continues to spend every minute she can with McKay Hatch and can't seem to wipe that smile off her face--which we love.

Mariah "officially" signed with Dixie State this week at her team dinner. The Athletic VP said nice things about her as did the girls' track coach and the head coach for whom she has run all four years. It was really neat to see her honored that way. She has worked really hard and its neat to see it pay off!

Mariah also ran in her regional finals track meet this week. She ran the mile, 2-mile, and 800. She did great in all of them, but especially in the 2-mile where she placed third and qualified for the state meet. She even got a medal! Bonus, her team took first at regions beating Skyridge by just a few points. Go SHS!

Cali and Chey had basketball games on Monday and Thursday this week and had a track meet this week as well. Cali ran the mile and the 400 and placed 5th in the mile! Go Cali! Chey ran the 200, the 4x400, hurdles, and the 400. She placed first in the 200, the 400, and the 4x400. Go Chey! They are really having fun competing and being with all their friends.

Bethany had the chance to perform in the Hope of America concert at BYU this week. Fifth graders all across the valley learn patriotic songs and then wear colored shirts so they can create an American flag at sing at the Marriott Center. It was really neat to see all the kids sing and do hand-movements together. Savannah and I really enjoyed it! Bethany did great.

There she is! See her?

Benjamin had "egg wars" at school this week. The kids are supposed to bring hard-boiled eggs from home so I let Ben bring the rest of our Easter eggs that we hadn't eaten yet. Easy peasy for me! Ben said they broke really easily, though, because they were so old. Maybe! I know the two left in his backpack sure made a mess. Ha! The joke's on me, I guess! He still had fun.

I attended the LDStorymakers conference this weekend and learned a ton. I decided that Jennifer Nielsen might just be my favorite person to listen to in the entire world, but I learned a lot from other great writers, too! Kevin was so super to take over for me while I was gone.
