Mariah graduated this week from Utah Tech University with her bachelor's degree in Sports and Recreation Management! We are so impressed with her and all she has accomplished! She got to wear a cool sash for being a student athlete and a gold cord for being summa cum laude. She was well decked out! Kevin and I drove down Friday morning with Megan, Bethany, and Kolby. Her department served us breakfast and had a short ceremony reception that we enjoyed. Afterwards, Mariah gave us a tour of campus as well as the HPC where she had the majority of her classes and worked last year. Then we drove over with Mariah to see the outside of the Red Cliffs Temple. So pretty!
That afternoon we met for lunch with more people who wanted to congratulate Mariah! We went to ChuckaRama with Granmda and Grandpa Elton, Aunt Maggie, Dylan, Liz, and Becca. It was so fun to see them and feel of their support.
That evening was the graduation. Mariah looked great in her robes and we cheered loudly when they read her name! We took lots of pictures and went out for smoothies afterwards.
Saturday morning, Kevin, Kolby, Mariah, and I went to the St. George temple early in the morning. What a beautiful temple! Afterwards we rejoined Megan and Beth and had breakfast. Then we went to Mariah's apartment and helped her take some things down to the car. She needed to stay for a few more track practices before conference next week. So then we said goodbye and headed home. It was a great trip!
We found Savannah and Ben safe at home. Saturday was May the Fourth so Savannah went to a reshowing of The Phantom Menace with her friends Joana and Stewart. She had a really good time. She also made it to work everyday this week!
Benjamin had a track meet on Friday! He was going to go to a campout Friday night but he didn't get back from his track meet soon enough. He did great at his track meet, though! He ran the mile and placed third and the 800 and placed second and the 4x400 and placed first. On Saturday he had a double tennis lesson and his teacher was impressed with how well he's doing!
It was super fun to have Beth on the trip with us this weekend. She is doing well. We saw Beth's endocrinologist on Tuesday morning and got news on new medication. We haven't seen any real changes yet and that is hard but it is always good to know the doctors are on our side and are trying! She still runs out of energy in the afternoon but she is trying to make the most of it!
In other news, we made good progress on wedding prep this week. And the end of school is coming closer and closer!
