Isn't she cool? She received the Springville Junior High Super Knight award last week. "A Super Knight at Springville Junior High exemplifies the highest qualities of students that seek to be effective communicators, responsible citizens, and successful learners." One student each month in each grade is awarded. Pretty cool, right? We got to read some of the things her teachers said about her, too. This was my favorite:
"I'm not sure how it's taken three years for Cali to be on the super knight list. She is the coolest! Her friends are lucky to have her in their groups to cheer them up and make life fun. She's so positive, resilient, and kind. She's a good example to me and to all of us. - Mr. Hammon"
Way to go, Calianne!
The rest of this week was mostly basketball, but I will give you a day-by-day breakdown so you believe me.
Monday Cali and Chey had piano lessons from 2-3, then Cali had a basketball game at 3:30. It was her last regular-season game so I took lotsa pictures. They won and Cali did great. Bethany had piano from 4-5 and then had a basketball game at 5:30. She did great. I think we lost, but that's ok, too!
On Tuesday, Sarah took Beth and Ben to karate and made dinner so I could meet Dad out at Skyridge High School and we could watch Mariah play and then Cheyenne play. They both lost but I thought they played well! Dad and I had fun grabbing some food between games and getting Ben some new Nikes at the outlet store that is right there after the games.
On Wednesday, Ben had a basketball game at 6:30. He said he made two baskets! Go Ben! I couldn't watch because I was at Bethany's game where she bruised up her knees going for steals and loose balls and being her most aggressive. Go Beth! Kevin couldn't watch because he was at a Stake Dinner for Young Women with Calianne who was our only young woman not officiating games for city rec. Sarah and Savannah were both at school late.
On Thursday, Cali had another basketball game because they lost the coin toss that would have given them a bye. They won easily and will finish the tournament on Monday and Tuesday next week. Beth and Ben also had karate on Thursday. Also on Thursday, Kevin left for Arizona to teach for IITAP. He was there until Sunday night.
On Friday, Sarah, Grandma, and I went to Timpanogos High School to watch Mariah and Cheyenne play in more basketball games. And guess what? They both won! Winning is pretty fun, I guess. That night, Kevin's brother, Matt, and his son, Connor visited for the night. They had a Taekwondo conference to go to the next day. We loved seeing them!
On Saturday . . . there were no basketball games. There were practices, though, for Mariah and Cali and officiating for Mariah and Chey. I took Ben to guitar where he wowed us with his D scale. Bethany finished her science project (just in time). Sarah and Cali watched Groundhog's Day. I went walking with my friend, Robin. And that night we all watched Thor, Dark World.
What a week!
