Bethany's birthday was this week! She turned 10 years-old! How did that happen?? She is a beautiful, sweet girl and we love her so much. We're so glad she came from heaven to be with us. We had Grandma and Grandpa Gazdik over for a birthday dinner on Sunday night and sang and blew out candles. On Wednesday, we had her GIANT TEN friend-birthday party. She wanted to go to Nickel City; so we went! And we ate pizza and drank root beer and played laser tag and arcade games and earned tickets and turned them in for prizes. It was a super fun time! Friday was Beth's actual birthday when she got her presents from Mom and Dad -- a new bike!
This week was also the week of Ben's last baseball game for the year. He's improved a lot and has had a ton of fun. He doesn't quite have catching with a mitt figured out, but his batting is really good!
I went on a super long hike this week! It was supposed to be 8.8 miles, but it was really 10. Aaaaannd, we got lost a couple of times, so we actually went 11. The app on my phone says we climbed 78 floors. We really thought we'd never get there. But we did! It was a beautiful hike and I managed to still be mobile afterwards AND the next day, so we're calling it a success! It was called White Pines Hollow Trail and it was in Santaquin Canyon. I didn't even know Santaquin had a canyon! They do. It's really pretty.
Mariah and Cali and Chey did a bunch of sports and Savannah and Kevin worked . . . UNTIL Friday when we packed up the car and took a quick trip to Idaho! We stayed with Grandpa Skinner and Maria! Sarah even came and spent the weekend with us! We even got to see Matt and Lynsey for lunch on Sunday! Good times! On Saturday we took a trip to see Mesa Falls, which is only about an hour from Grandpa, but we'd never been. We stopped to feed the fish along the way and then were amazed by the beauty of the falls! So beautiful! After a picnic, we came back to Grandpa's for some four-wheeling. The kids just love that. We had a great visit and are so glad we went.
Grandpa lined everyone up and made them eat an olive! |
