On Monday, Megan left us to go to the FCCLA conference for three days. She is the VP in charge of social media. She and two of her friends presented a business proposal for the STAR competition. AND they got third place in the state! Aren't they coool?? Meg had a ton of fun, too, staying in the hotel, going out to eat, and enjoying the obstacle course and other fun events they provided for them. She made some great memories!!
Mariah ran in a track meet on Tuesday and ran the mile in 5:35 which disappoints her greatly because it was four seconds from her personal best, plus she was ahead the whole race and at the end a girl beat her. Sad. It's okay. She's determined to do better next time, even though we all still think she is super cool.
Cali and Chey had to dress crazy this week and dress like hippies and dress like nerds. They are very good participators but I only took one picture! Actually if there's a competition, then they are all in, no matter what it is.
Beth and Ben did karate and really enjoyed being outside with their friends in the nicer weather and with the longer days. I took Beth and the twins to the library on Wednesday and we saw the new dragon statue!
The weather was so nice on Wednesday that my friends and I hiked the Y again!
I had to get my hike done early in the week because on Thursday I had LASIK surgery done! Ahh! I'm so thrilled. I've wanted to do it since forever and the time was finally right. It was amazingly simple. On Thursday I had 20/400 vision and on Friday morning, when I went back for my check-up, my vision was 20/15 in both eyes. My vision still goes from cloudy to clear as I continue to heal, but I am happy with it and think it's going to be great!
On Friday afternoon, our spring break started so we got in the van and drove to Las Vegas to stay with Grandma and Grandpa Elton! We got to see my sisters Amy and Diane's family Saturday night and we all hung out again today after conference. I love my family and am so happy to be spending time with them again!
