For dinner, we all went up the canyon, (Grandma and Grandpa, too!), and had a picnic. There was much playground romping and creek exploring by the younger four and much laying under the trees by the olders among us. Cali and Chey practiced pitching and catching with Grandpa and Kevin, too. It was a fun time! But then, we are fun people!
When we got home, guess who lost his first top tooth?
Tuesday, Kevin, Cali, and Chey had a softball game; Sarah, Megan, and Mariah went on a hike for YW; and Ben had a T-ball practice! It was a busy night!
Wednesday was not so busy, so Kevin and I went to the temple for ward temple night. We finally got to go to the new city center temple together! It's very pretty and always rejuvenating to go to the temple.
Thursday night, Kevin, Cali, and Chey had a softball game, Mariah was umping for softball games, Megan was working at Funfinity, Sarah was scorekeeping for softball games, Ben had his first T-ball game, and I had bookclub at our house! Whew! How did that all work out? We had to move bookclub back a half hour, but otherwise, it worked out fine! T-ball is full of silly boys who have no idea what is going on most of the time! But Ben sure did great hitting and running!
He sure looks cute in his uniform! |
Saturday morning was race time! The annual Art City Days Nestle 5K had Skinner participants yet again! Kevin placed fourth in his age group, Mariah placed 1st in hers, and Megan 6th. Wow! What a load of fast people! Equally impressive, Cali and Chey finished together just under 30 minutes and Beth and Ben finished together just under 35 minutes! Sarah and I had a marvelous time taking our time but made it back just under 45 minutes. We waited to hear if our numbers would be drawn for prizes and we won a $25 gift certificate to Amazon! We always have tons of fun!
Right after the race, Kevin took Mariah to the rest of her basketball tournament (2 on Friday and 3 more on Saturday). Megan went to a tennis lesson and then she and Sarah worked together at Funfinity all afternoon. Bethany went to another birthday party and Cali and Chey attended a swim party.
I also shouldn't fail to mention that Megan and Mariah started cross country practices this week at 7am each morning! And Sarah had a day where she worked three jobs! Cali and Chey planned a girls camp with their friend, Elizabella, got the flyers made, and started getting sign-ups!
It sounds crazy busy over here, but the teens mostly get themselves to places, and the youngers entertain themselves with their friends. It's nice to not have to get anyone to or from school or worry about homework! In fact, I had a lot of time to do accounting this week, and Saturday after the race, spent the rest of the day in the yard, reading my book! :)
