It is difficult to describe how very much Benjamin loves the dishwasher! It does make loading the dishwasher a bit like walking up a down escalator.
Still, it makes him happy so how can I tell him no?? He’s in there now undoing my morning’s work . . .
We had a relatively quiet week here. We even had some warm, spring-like days and the kids played outside in the afternoons. I love that! I even cooked dinner in the solar oven on Thursday. Maybe because it was so warm and sunny and relaxed, I completely forgot to take the twins to their music class on Thursday. Oh, were they upset! Calianne even cried! They have since forgiven me, though, so all is well.
On Tuesday, one of Sarah’s classes put together some child care activities and the students got to bring their little brothers and sisters. Sarah was so excited. Bethany was so excited! I don’t know who was more excited! Bethany said on the way there and the way back, “I love Sarah!”
She made a magic crown and got a fishie nametag and enjoyed some fishie treats and a juice box, but when I asked her what she’d done she just said, “Played with Sarah!” Of course, Mom! What could be better?
As I watched all the cars come up to the junior high to drop off or pick up little brothers and sisters, I thought how unique it is for so many junior high students to have brothers and sisters that young. It is one of the things I really like about Utah. Along those lines, as we talked about the event at dinner, it was decided that Megan would also be able to take Bethany next year and that Mariah would be able to take Benjamin. Savannah took Calianne and Cheyenne two years ago when she had the class. But then, Cheyenne demanded, “What about us? Who will we take?” I am sorry, child. There are limits to what I can provide for you!
I also took Beth and Ben to the playground on Friday (when the temperatures went into the 70s!) with a bunch of moms from the neighborhood. It’s so funny because I really resist those things thinking, “I have so much to do!” But it was wonderful not just for the Bs, but for me, too! Plus, the snow over the weekend just proves that you have to grab those chances when you can!
We watched General Conference this weekend, of course, and it was wonderful. Hoorah to the church for making my life full of meaning and purpose and love. :)

The dishwasher pictures are adorable! So is Bethany's picture. Tell your younger kids that there will always be a younger child in the neighborhood for them to borrow for the event. That's what we did every time and it's worked out great!
Huzzah for conference. The only problem was that it flew by too fast. I remember as a child it seemed to last forever. Last Sunday, after the morning session, I began to get sad thinking it was almost over. Oh, how perspective changes things.
